Games I Like – Mordheim – Not dead, just busy!… Have some Dwarfs

This isn’t really a topical post… as I’ll be putting up photos of stuff I’ve worked on almost seven months ago.

That being said I figured with people still visiting by the hundreds right now I should likely update saying; I”m not actually dead… just really busy.

The usual excuses (you know, new house, baby on the way, blah blah blah). Suffice it to say often enough my paints and brushes have been in a box waiting to be unpacked or slamming around in a uHaul.

I will try to post a bit in the coming weeks. I have worked on odds and ends here and there which I can share.

About six months ago some talented folks I occasionally hobby with decided on a challenge to build and paint a Mordheim Warband we drew from a hat. The one caveat; everything HAD to be plastic or putty. With those as the rules I drew Dwarfs. Normally this would be a snap, but I wanted my Dwarfs a bit more dynamic than the current plastics. A lot of hacking and converting and here’s what I came up with;

Dwarf Noble 1

Dwarf Noble 2

Dwarf Noble 3

He is a combination of Putty, Empire Pistolier and Dwarf Warrior bits. Very happy with the sculpting!

The Trollslayer

Trollslayer 1

Trollslayer 2

Dwarf 3

This guy is mostly putty. He has the arms from a Warmachine Crewman, Axes from the Warriors box and head from an Empire Flagellant. The rest is putty. 🙂

Beardlings

Beardlings

Again, some Pistolier bits and Dwarf Warrior bits. Lots of use of the Standard arm and a few others. Beards and Bellies are mostly putty as the Warriors faces are sculpted onto their front torsos.

These guys are long since painted and finished, but if I posted those photos now there would be months until you saw an update again, so I’ll save it! Apologies as well for the crappy cell phone photos, but they’ll have to do for now.
