100th Blog Post – Memphis Gaming – Are the gamers out there?

As I sit in Aruba on my honeymoon, having been exiled to sunny places during Gencon’s 4 best days in gaming (and likely forever after, unless my wife will allow us to take a gamers holiday to Indianapolis!), I find myself looking forward to getting back to my hobby when I return to the US.

One of the most interesting things I’ve found about the internet is that it really is a way that I have stayed connected to friends in gaming. I’ve been hanging out on the MERCS forums, chatting with buddies back home on our little Facebook group about their upcoming Necromunda Mod they are playing and checking out the coverage form GenCon.

Some time ago I set up a forum called the Memphis Tabletop Gaming Society in the hopes of gathering together Gamers in the thinly populated Mid South region an meet some new folks to play. Almost a year later, I’ve managed to make a good gaming buddy from the effort, and would like to help others do the same! I’ve now decided to take the effort to the worlds biggest Social Networking site (Facebook) and start a group there as well.

So enter the Memphis Tabletop Gaming Society Facebook Page. With any luck this next 365 days will help me to find at least two more gaming buddies in the following year to come!

With that being said, big thanks to J.T. Kitchen for being my Ninja Shopper this year at GenCon! Without you I would have likely been divorced by now, spending most of my honeymoon hunting GenCon exclusives on Ebay!

All the best, hope to see new folks on the Forums or Facebook.
